Why do you use the medium you use?
I don't have any specific medium that I use. I use whichever medium I think can portray the feeling I have for that specific piece of art. I am fluent in many forms of media from graphite, charcoal, and paint, to sculpting using wood, clay, and metal.
What role does art play in your life?
My whole life has revolved around art and creating! Ever since I could remember, I've always been drawing, painting, or using my hands to create. I've been a tattoo artist most of my life (since age 19), but mostly I enjoy art because it makes my immediate environment brighter.
What inspires you to create?
Anything can inspire the creation of art. The smallest little bug to the vastness of the universe. So many feelings can be the basis of art also. I guess most of the time it's that one moment that is the main inspiration for the art I create.
Transformation Statement
Transformation, for me, means any form of change that can make your life better. In my life I struggle with depression and anxiety, so you can imagine that being in prison isn't ideal for positivity in my life, so I use my art as a form of escape. I create by using my feelings as an anchor for the art, sometimes it's dark and gloomy and other times it's light and full of life, but everytime it involves transformation to better my situation. I just hope that my art portrays that transformation and those that view my art can obtain their own form of change to better their lives as well.

The Monarch (For sale)
Eyes on the World (For sale) At the time I did this it was mid-pandemic and everywhere all I could see were eyes! So I did a pastel eye and found I wasn't satisfied with the outcome so I decided to build on it and eventually it transformed into the piece you see today. I used what supplies I had around me and this is what emerged. It is an interactive piece that allows the viewer to shed light on the world but be mindful and kind and please turn the light back off so you allow the opportunity for others to shine a light as well. Thank you!
