Inspiration:

My inspiration was on what my heart was thinking and my mind feeling. I know for some people it's the other way around. But for me, I think with my heart, and in it my family is my priority and when I think about them, it brings me joy, happiness, sadness, but strength and courage to keep moving forward. Therefore my piece is my heart, my family and all in it is what makes me not give up and feel blessed.

What role does art play in your life?

Art is my way to show my love, my appreciation to someone in my life. I love to give a piece of me to the people I love and now with painting I have created another outlet to show more of me but with colors. My people are my inspiration and also my mood defines what my mind puts together, so that my hand can create on a canvas.

Artist statement:

Mi nombre es Ivy. Soy originaria de Oaxala, Mexico elonde el arte es muy colorido, muy folklórico, muy tradicional pero único. Aprecio las diferentes formas de arte. Uno de los iantores que me ha llamado la atención es Van Gogh por sos usos de colores, oscuros, so experimento con impresionismo, la influencia japonesa en sus pinturas y sus colores vividos. El uso de "water-color" es uno de mis favoritas. Es la primera vez que los usos y me gusta so fluidez. Mi inspiración en estas pinturas han sido mi familia, mis pensamientos sentimientos y lo que puedo decir en el lienzo sin usar mi voz ha sido lo jejor que he experimentado en estos momentos. El arte es una mafia que todos tenemos y cuando la descubrimos creamos el mundo que queremos y ya no salimos de ello.
