AFTI artist, Lux Thunberg, was invited to take part in the "Beauty from Ashes" Exhibition curated by Art is my Weapon featuring multiple talented artists of different disciplines who created meaningful artwork from decommissioned gun parts collected in a 2022 "Quick Connect" Buy Back program developed to get weapons off of the streets of Minnesota.

Thanks to the participation of our artists inside and out, the dedicated staff and volunteers of AFTI and Unity Church, and the many participants who donated time and money to our first ever fundraiser, Paint with a Purpose was a great success.

Congratulations to AFTI artist, Zhi Kai Vanderford who graduated with his paralegal certification through North Hennepin Community College!

Art from the Inside is beyond excited to have one of our very own included in this provocative exhibit, Technicolor Truths! Our light-filled artist on the outside, Lux Thunberg, will be among these creative spirits in this full color exhibit driven by the genius of artist Sean Garrison.

AFTI artist and scholar, Lennell M. Martin received a bachelor of arts in individualized studies from Metro State University.

Art from the Inside: IDENTITY with selected works from featured artists is showing now through Friday, February 24, 2022, at Gallery 120. Art shows and exhibitions are hosted at Gallery 120’s brick-and-mortar location in the atrium of the Fine Arts building on the Inver Hills Community College campus in Inver Grove Heights, Minnesota.

The Minnesota Museum of American Art, affectionately known simply as The M, has an art collection of regional and national significance. It now includes an acquisition from one of artists.
