Justice is radical and fearless, just as the woman whose portrait you are viewing. Angela Davis is a woman who carries such a power within her. Even if you don't know who she is, the power within her gaze is undeniable. As was the case with me, I didn't know who she was beyond the name. Only during the creative process of this piece was I compelled to find out. Art is such an incubator for knowledge. It's forced me to find out, for which I'm glad. She is a woman with many perspectives of both sides of the scales of justice.

I am grateful to know a small piece of her through this artwork and to feel the reflection of Justice I see when I see it. I hope you might find out what I have as well.
